I’ve been trying to figure out what to wear for Thanksgiving. I love any reason to pull a good outfit together. I haven’t made my final wardrobe choice, but I know layers will be involved. Layers are a perfect way to hide what we don’t want seen and create flattering lines on our body shape. Here are some well-styled pics that I’m drawing inspiration from. You can check out these and more on my Pinterest page.
It’s all the details. I’ve been on the search for the perfect black and white striped layering shirt. I’ve found one at Target, but the sleeves are 3/4 length and I want a full long sleeve. I love how she’s layered her turtle neck under her sweater dress and then put the fur vest over it all. I also love the peekaboo sock under her boots.
I just bought a pair of distressed burgundy jeans from Runway Seven in Zona Rosa (formerly Apricot Lane). The oversized grey sweater adds balance to the fitted pants and touch of leopard for a pattern pop is adorable (or you could pair with black or grey converse for a more casual look). I also love her hat. I’ve been slowly collecting felt hats but have not been brave enough to wear any of them. How perfect for those no-wash hair days?
This was posted on one of my favorite blogger sites Atlantic-Pacific. The entire outfit is amazing, but the thigh-high sox over the tights are what I love the most and easy to repeat with other dresses and skirts. Add leather boots or booties to dress up the outfit.
This is perfect layering at it’s best. Sweater, skirt, jacket, scarf, tights – check, check, check.
Another adorable way to do layers by adding socks under your booties. Keep your toes warmer too.
I’m wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. I’ve got more than my fair share to be thankful for and on that list is the support and encouragement I’ve received for SearleGirls. I’ve heard lots of great feedback and will do my best to post what you want to see! Each and everyone one of you call pull off a version of these looks. I will never look like these beautiful models, but the key is finding that inspiration from the picture that you maybe had not considered doing and incorporating it into your outfit. We’ve all got a pair of tights, sox, a vest, a button up shirt. Try a new way of wearing something you already have.
So what are you wearing? Let me know! Don’t let the bird steal your spotlight. I’ll post my #OOTD tomorrow.
